Evan Hardy
FOUNDER/TUTOR
I am from the Bay Area in California. I am currently studying Chemical Engineering at BYU and have over two years of experience teaching Khmer to missionaries at the MTC. I am passionate about helping and serving the youth, regardless of the subject or challenge they face. It’s the reason why I created Happy Valley Tutor! I love school, even though it can sometimes feel like a drag, I want to ensure those exploring STEM have a positive first experience, just as others did for me.

I am from Ventura County, California. I am the oldest of five children and I love spending time with my family. I am currently studying cell biology and physiology at BYU with the goal of pursuing a career in the medical field. I am a teaching assistant for general chemistry at BYU and I love helping students understand challenging concepts and be successful in their studies. In my free time, I love distance running, traveling, baking, and reading (especially historical fiction). I’m excited to get to know and help you!

I am from Bangor, Maine and am graduating from BYU in April with a degree in neuroscience. After the summer of 2025, I will be attending medical school. As a biology TA, I found a true passion for teaching and mentoring students. I love to teach students proven learning methods (that allowed me to excel on tests like the SAT and MCAT) to help them meet their academic goals. I specialize in subject areas including biology, chemistry, and physics, but am well-versed in mathematics and writing as well.

I’m from Dallas, Texas! I moved to Utah to be a student at BYU where I’m majoring in Applied and Computational Mathematics with an emphasis in Pre-Medicine. My end goal is to go to medical school to become a dermatologist! Because I know how hard schooling can be, I learned how to make it easier with a few study tips and tricks! After my freshman year at BYU, I served a mission in Hong Kong where I learned Cantonese Chinese! I know that my 18 months serving both helped me to learn useful study skills, diligence, and how to become a better disciple of Christ. Learning things in school and learning things in the gospel are more closely related than you might think!

We offer tutoring throughout Utah County, either in person or online through your preferred platform. When booking you’ll submit the address (or online preference) and we’ll meet you there. We’re happy to meet at a location that’s most comfortable for you. Your home, library, park, or office. A quiet, distraction-free environment is ideal for effective learning.

Most subjects with challenging material can be reviewed and practiced within an hour. If your child is preparing for a major test with extensive material, sessions can be extended as needed. We’re flexible to suit your needs!

Yes! Our tutors have dedicated schedules for their classes and have set specific time slots for tutoring. If your child’s availability aligns with your preferred tutor’s schedule, you can book with them directly. To continue with the same tutor, please reach out to them to arrange a regular time.

When booking, you’ll be asked to provide details about your child’s class and the subject material they need help with. To help our tutors prepare effectively, we ask that you send pictures of specific problems or questions your child is struggling with. This ensures they can come prepared and ready to assist!

We understand the frustration of slow progress. Mastering STEM material takes time and cannot happen overnight. These topics are challenging for a reason. We encourage patience and consistent effort to achieve meaningful results. With hard work and dedication, we believe anyone can succeed in their classes. If your child continues to struggle, we recommend consulting their academic counselor for additional support.
